Physicians: Read How to Stay Out of Trouble with EMTALA Law

In an article entitled 20 Common Practices That Will Get On-Call Physicians Cited, attorney Steven A. Frew explains what each of these circumstances is and how the physician should act to avoid running afoul of EMTALA law.

The article begins as follows:

“The EMTALA law renders many common practices among physicians and hospitals illegal, even though the physicians may think that they are prudent medical practices or simply good business. Some may be viewed as harmless oversights by physicians, but may result in substantial violations and fines.”
