Feds Reward Doctor-Owned Hospitals, them Punish Them

Physician-owned hospitals perform better, according to a Kaiser Health News analysis. For the superior quality of care they provide their patients, they are rewarded under federal law. But the other hand of the feds, bowing to pressure by competitors on Congress, has resulted in a federal law to halt construction or expansion of these hospitals.
